About Uptown Marion, an Iowa Main Street DistrictDistrict:

Uptown Marion is proud to have been selected as an Iowa Main Street District in 2013. The Main Street Approach® was developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation's National Main Street Center with the goal of economic development within the context of historic preservation.

The mission of Uptown Marion is to drive continued revitalization, growth and preservation of the historic character of our district through appropriate design, promotion and economic strategies with a community focus.

Uptown Marion is also a designated Cultural & Entertainment District. Iowa Cultural Districts are well-recognized, labeled, mixed-use, compact areas of a city or town in which a high concentration of cultural facilities serves as the anchor.
