Heritage Walking Tour Fundraiser a Marion Heritage Center & Museum Community Event The Marion Heritage Center & Museum is sponsoring their Heritage Walking tour and fundraiser Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. to 8 P.M. Author and historian Ms. Judy Hull will present a program about some of the historic 6th Ave houses of Marion. Doors will open for meet and greet reception 5:00 P.M., dinner will be served at 5:30 P.M. and Hull will share historical history of the Territorial Road and the early families who lived there. At 6:15 we’ll walk down 6th Ave and Judy will tell stories about select homes on the Territorial Road of Marion, Iowa. At the end of the walk we will return for dessert and Judy will accept comments from the participants show additional pictures if there is time. Open discussion and stories will be shared & encouraged from participants. Judy Hull is the chairperson of the Marion Historic Preservation Commission and has served on the commission for 22 years. She is the author of several books about historic Marion neighborhoods including 19 Century Brick Houses, Pucker Street, Terrace Park, and the Uptown Commercial District, all recognized by the National Register of Historic Places. Tickets are available at the Center and from all Board members — advance tickets are $15 for adults. Purchase includes: program & walking tour, an Italian meal; Lasagna, salad, bread sticks and dessert. Rain or Shine. Reserve your ticket with payment in-full by Friday, April 27. Limited to 40. Wear appropriate walking shoes and weather apparel. We will provide shuttles to transport individuals back from the end of 6th Ave/Thomas Park.
