Campbell Steele Gallery is a ‘Must See’ in Marion
By Gary Follmann | Marion Times | December 10th, 2015 |
From the minute I opened the door to Campbell Steele Gallery, located at 1064 7th Avenue, in Marion, I was greeted by a warm handshake and an extended welcome by Owner Craig Campbell.
It was almost impossible to not be engulfed by the beautiful surroundings of this stylish studio. Nestled in the heart of the Uptown Marion District, this ever-charming gallery is absolutely breath taking!!
At Campbell Steele Gallery, they do not have what we consider “normal” business hours, but operate on “call-ahead” appointments. This has worked well for the gallery for several years. Owners Craig and Priscilla actually live right in the gallery with their beautiful, modern, and spacious upstairs apartment. Fulfilling the needs of patrons and long-time loyal customers is easy for them.
Campbell Steele Gallery offers a variety of venue ideas, from hosting corporate as well as private parties, wedding rehearsals and ceremonies, to intimate gathering of friends with live music. Their facilities include an equipped wine bar, a beautiful three-story garden atrium, an easy main floor entrance, as well as a well a complete theatrical and concert performance space.
The majority of the downstairs is adorned in prestigious ornate settings, surrounded by the aspiring art work of owner Priscilla Steele. The gallery is an alluring setting in which much of her work is portrayed and ready to be gazed upon. “Her,” featured with her husband and 19-year-old cat, is a piece which will be displayed in an upcoming exhibit at Coe College.
The intimacy and personal experience you receive upon entering the Campbell Steele Gallery is a treat all in itself.
I encourage everyone, if you have not experienced this fine piece of Uptown Marion, to give them a call or check their website for upcoming events. Truly, one visit will NOT be enough.
