Chocolate Walk Returns in Uptown Marion

Shoppers are invited to an evening strolling in Uptown Marion to sample chocolate treats at the annual Chocolate Walk, Friday, October 7 from 7:30 – 10:00 pm. Grab a friend and enjoy Fall at your favorite spot and discover new stores. Enter for a chance to win a $100 gift certificates to participating Uptown Marion businesses by presenting a receipt at the welcome booth located in the North Plaza. Attendees can also grab an event map with participating stores listed to make their shopping plan.

Entertainment includes acoustic artist Billy Heller on the Uptown Artway stage, street magic performer Jackson Green in the north plaza, and pianist Elisabeth Kissling inside Philip’s Diamond Shop. All entertainment begins at 7:30 pm.

“This is the perfect event to shop and dine in Uptown and see the new streetscape lit up at night,” said Brooke Prouty, Uptown Marion Main Street director.

The Marion Welcome Center retail space will be open for attendees to shop Marion branded items and apparel. The Welcome Center is housed in the front of the Marion Chamber of Commerce an Uptown Marion Main Street office at 1070 7th Avenue.

The Chocolate Walk is sponsored by the Marion Chamber Platinum Community Partners – Farmers State Bank, ImOn Communications, MercyCare Community Physicians, Summit Pointe Senior Living and Z102.9, and is produced by the Marion Chamber of Commerce and Uptown Marion – A Main Street Iowa District with support from the City of Marion Hotel Motel grant program.
