Family fun in Marion at Christmas in the Park & Peppermint Walk! Join us for this annual celebration!
Marion will shine bright this holiday season with the lighting of the community peace tree.
Visit Santa, enjoy music from the Heart of Marion Community Choir and School of Rock.
Enjoy traditional event activities including popcorn from El Kahir Shrine and hot cocoa while supplies last. Bring a new, warm-weather item to place inside and help Keep Your Neighbors Warm.
Visit participating Uptown Marion merchants for the Peppermint Walk. Stores will be decked with holiday lights, decorations and music making this a great compliment to the Park activities.

Arrival of Santa Claus | 4:00 pm Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive to Uptown Marion on 7th Avenue.
Visit Santa | 4:00-8:00 pm Visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at a new store-front location, 1104 7th Avenue! Drop off your letter in our magic mailbox. Our elves will help guide you in and out of the house and show you where to place your letter.
Horse Drawn Carriage Rides | 4:00-8:00 pm Create a special memory by taking a horse-drawn ride around Uptown Marion. 7th Avenue on the north of City Square Park.
Peace Tree Lighting | 6:00 pm Join us for lighting of Marion’s Peace Tree in City Square Park
School of Rock Performance | 5:00 pm Join students from School of Rock in Marion for special holiday performance in the park.
Adorable Princess Visit | 5:30 – 7:30 pm Visit the princesses in person and pose for a photo.
Heart of Marion Community Choir | 5:30 pm Join the Heart of Marion Community Choir for a sing-a-long near the north plaza
Trinity Presbyterian Carolers | 6:15 Sing along to familiar favorites
Library | 4-8:00 pm Kick off the holiday season with MPL during this year’s Peppermint Walk! Visit the library for fireplace photo-ops, musical entertainment, seasonal movies, snowflake making, story times, and other festive activities. The library will remain open until 8 p.m.
Family Fun Activities | 4-8:00 pm Enjoy traditional event activities including holiday music, popcorn from El Kahir Shrine and hot cocoa while supplies last. Bring a new, cold-weather item to place inside our festive truck and help Keep Your Neighbors Warm. Look for all our festive photo ops throughout the event for the perfect picture!
Peppermint Walk | 4-8:00 pm Visit participating Uptown Marion merchants, restaurants and businesses during this special holiday open house. Stores will be decked with holiday lights, decorations and music making this a great compliment to the Park activities. Present a receipt from a purchase made during the event at any Uptown Marion business and be registered to win a $50 Uptown Dollars certificate valid at participating Uptown businesses. Receipts can be presented at the Marion Chamber & Uptown Marion office, 1070 7th Avenue.
Christmas in the Park and the Peppermint Walk is presented by the Marion Chamber of Commerce and Uptown Marion Main Street. It remains a free community event thanks to our Marion Chamber Platinum Community Partners – Farmers State Bank, ImOn Communications, MercyCare Community Physicians, Summit Pointe Senior Living, and Z102.9.
